Peter and the Wolf
This full-scale theatrical production abounds with Victorian toys come to life. Grandfather, an elegant 8-foot tall gentleman, enters the scene on a high-wheeler bicycle. Peter is only 8 years old, but he is over 6 feet all and he rides a toy Victorian horse on wheels.
The Sound Mall
Peter and the Wolf has always been a tool for leaning about the instruments of the orchestra. As a companion piece, we will present The Sound Mall, focusing on the science of music and sound. With large scale masks and props it tells how the instruments (strings, brass, reeds, and percussion) came to be the shape and size they are in order to make the sounds they do.
